MIGRATOR 2000 will develop, demonstrate and disseminate tools for the JPEG 2000 digital imaging standard.
The project focuses on image archiving, image delivery and
medical applications, including the implementation of IPR
protection, content description and watermarking.
JPEG 2000 is a new image compression and coding system
developed by the JPEG committee. Part 1 of
the new JPEG 2000 standard (ISO/IEC 15444-1)was approved as an International
Standard in February 2001. Other parts are likely to be completed in 2001 and 2002.
This site is used to disseminate the results of MIGRATOR 2000, and is based on
technology,
partly developed under the project by
Elysium Ltd, one of the Migrator partners. The project
started in January 2000 and completes in June 2001. The site will be kept active until at least January 2002, depending on its use to the wider community.
